Fees/Charges

Payment is usually to be made on the day of consultation. We accept cash, credit card, EFTPOS and cheque for payment. We can submit your Medicare claim online for certain item numbers if you are registered with them.  This would mean your Medicare rebate automatically deposited back to your nominated bank account.

For gynaecology patients, fees are charged per visit and for outpatient’s procedures.

All gynaecological in-hospital procedures and surgeries are no gap. This means we do not charge you but charge directly to your private health fund and there is no out of pocket fees.

For obstetric patients, we charge a standard first visit fee and after this, all subsequent antenatal visits are bulk billed.

There is an out of pocket amount for managing the pregnancy of a private patient. This takes into account the whole of pregnancy care delivered by Dr Kothari, and the 24-hour availability of expert advice and management.

A "management of pregnancy beyond 20 weeks" account with a Medicare item is billed halfway through the pregnancy, and then at 30 weeks another account for the remainder of the out of pocket fee is rendered. We split the out of pocket fee into two payments for your convenience. After this there is no more out of pocket fees from the primary obstetrician.

Sometimes we refer to other specialists such as endocrinologists, physicians or surgeons for pregnancy related complications and we refer all our babies to a neonatal paediatric colleague for a specialist examination. Services provided by other specialists may be charged separately and are payable directly to them.

Please check with your private health fund to ensure you are fully covered for obstetric services in a private hospital.

Self-funded and overseas insured patients are welcome.  Please contact us for more information.
